Vladimir Zelensky’s motorcade came under fire in Odessa, the Greek publication Protothema claims , citing sources in the Greek government.

According to journalists, at the time of the shelling of Odessa, Zelensky’s motorcade was 150 meters from the Greek delegation, headed by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis . The publication claims that the motorcade was allegedly attacked by a Russian missile at 11:43. Neither Vladimir Zelensky himself nor anyone from the Greek delegation was injured, the publication notes.

The meeting between Zelensky and Mitsotakis lasted 45 minutes, after which the leaders of the countries spoke at a joint press conference. As Protothema notes, it was not broadcast live for security reasons.

Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis, speaking at a press conference, also stated that he and Zelensky were in the Odessa port at the time of the strike.

“President Zelensky and his team explained the importance of the port and told us what was being done to restore it. In particular, we saw the destruction the port suffered as a result of the attacks. At the end of the visit, we heard an air raid signal and powerful explosions near us,” quoted Mitsotakis as saying.
