The dates of deliveries of wine to Russia from Italian vineyards owned by Dmitry Medvedev coincided with the dates of his scandalous anti-Western publications on social networks. The Insider came to this conclusion after analyzing information from the private trading database ImportGenius.
The publication reports that after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev continued to receive wine from his Fattoria della Aiola winery, located in Italian Tuscany. The first delivery after the full-scale invasion took place on June 17, 2022. The consignment with a total weight of 42 kilograms was transported by the Latvian company Wellman Logistics, and the recipient was Rue de Vin LLC. According to The Insider, this company, through a chain of others, belongs to JSC Skalisty Bereg. Its founder is the Sotsgosproekt foundation, controlled by Medvedev.
Two days after this shipment arrived, Medvedev wrote a telegram post in which he predicted the disappearance of the European Union and also called the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, “auntie.”
The next delivery took place on July 18, 2022. The shipment was sent to Russia by the Latvian company SIA Lionwine, and received by the Moscow LLC Lion Wine. The Insider notes that the bottles were imported as “samples.” A few days later, Medvedev published a post listing the “sins” of the West, in which he called US President Joe Biden a “grandfather with dementia” and used the expressions “European fools” and “city madmen” in relation to the European leadership.
The next batch of Fattoria della Aiola wine arrived in Russia on October 13, 2022. It was larger than the previous ones - its total weight was about four tons. The wine was imported into the country by a large importer, Mistral Alco. A few days after this, Medvedev wrote a post about “Bandera degenerates.”
“Samples” from Medvedev’s winery through MB Group Impex arrived in Russia in January 2023 - The Insider does not name the exact date. At the same time, the publication cites Medvedev’s post dated January 11, in which he called European officials “poor.”
The publication notes that Rue de Vin, associated with the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, also brings samples of other Italian wine to Russia. In July 2023, she bought wine produced by Vinicola Mediterranea, shortly after its delivery to Russia, Medvedev wrote about the likelihood of a “nuclear apocalypse.”
Alexei Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation reported in 2017 that the Fattoria della Aiola winery in Tuscany belongs to Dmitry Medvedev. At that time, this business was registered in a Cyprus offshore company owned by Medvedev’s close friend and Gazprombank top manager Ilya Eliseev. Now the ownership structure of the winery has changed, writes The Insider. The Cyprus offshore has changed to another, but part of the company’s shares now belongs directly to Eliseev.
