In Kyrgyzstan, the Temirov Live project journalists were arrested until May 13
The court in Bishkek on March 12 sent them for two months 8 out of 11 journalists of the investigative project Temirov Live. They are accused of calling for riots that they themselves deny.
The remaining three reporters are placed under house arrest, the Kyrgyz service of Radio Liberty reports.
On January 16, it was reported about the searches and detention of journalists. Then the police also came to the employees of another investigative publication - "Ait Ait Ten". It was noted that investigative actions were carried out within the framework of the initiated Ministry of Internal Affairs of the criminal case under the article "Call to the active disobedience of the legal requirements of representatives of the authorities and the riots, as well as calls for violence against citizens." According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on December 30, police officers discovered information and Temirov Live on the pages of Ait Ait REA, calling for protest shares.
The founder of Temirov Live, a well-known journalist-investigator of swamp Temirov, was deported to Moscow in November 2022. He was accused of illegally obtaining citizenship of Kyrgyzstan. Temirov then rejected guilt.
Human rights groups condemned the detention of journalists in Kyrgyzstan, calling them an attack on freedom of speech.
