The most likely candidate for the post of chairman of the Supreme Court (Sun) is called him deputy chairman, head of the Judicial Collegium for Economic Disputes Irina Podnsov. This was reported by Vedomosti with reference to sources.

According to the newspaper, the selection of applications is carried out from March 1, and at present it is not over. One of the interlocutors of journalists said that the appointment of a tray would be “the most logical”, since it has long been “known” in the judicial community.

From 1970 to 1975, Podnosova studied at the Law Faculty of Leningrad University, like Vladimir Putin. Previously, it was appointed the head of the second appeal court of general jurisdiction and the Leningrad Regional Court. In 2020, the sources of Kommersant called it a “very influential person” in the judicial system, “since everyone understands who is behind it.”

On February 24, the 80-year-old chairman of the Armed Forces Vyacheslav Lebedev died. His duties are temporarily performed by his first deputy Peter Serkov - also a former Soviet judge.
