Alexander Shirvindt died

In Moscow, People's Artist of Russia Alexander Shirvindt died. This was reported by TASS with reference to actor Sergei Gazarov.

Shirvindt was 89 years old.

“Misha called me, the son of Alexander Anatolyevich, he died in the hospital half an hour ago. How and what we will do, I do not know yet, ”said Gazarov.

• Alexander Shirvindt since 1970 has played at the Satire Theater. Since 2000 - he was his artistic director, from 2021 - the president. Among the most famous performances he staged are the comedy chips “Wake and Sing”, “Little Comedies of the Big House”, “Undergrowth”.
• As an actor Shirvindt starred in more than 70 films. His most famous roles are in the ribbons “The Irony of Fate, or with a slight steam” by Eldar Ryazanov and “12 chairs” by Mark Zakharov, as well as in the television version of the performances of the Satire Theater “Crazy Day, or the Marriage of Figaro” and “Examiner”.
• In 1982, Shirvindt received the title of People's Artist of the USSR.
