Results of the second day

The second day of voting in the presidential elections has ended in Russia and the occupied territories. “Layout” sums it up.

In Belgorod, the second day of voting, like the first, began with shelling. At eight in the morning Moscow time, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced the launch of a missile danger siren. Three people were killed as a result of the shelling. In addition, shopping centers were closed in the city and classes were canceled in schools. In the evening, Belgorod came under fire for the second time that day.

Residents of Moscow received messages from bots in the Signal and Telegram instant messengers, accusing them of supporting “extremist ideas” and demanding to vote “without queues.” In particular, seven readers of the Agency received such messages: the publication assumes that their data was in the database of fund supporters that leaked in 2021. The correspondent of “Vestka”, whose data was also in this database, received a similar message.

Golos published two videos showing possible ballot stuffing. Co-chairman of the movement Stanislav Andreychuk claims that the videos were filmed at polling stations in Krasnodar. One of them shows a woman leaving a booth in the background with a stack of ballots, throwing it into a ballot box and walking away. “They say this is a member of the commission, which a crowd of accomplices tried to hide from the observer,” Andreychuk wrote.

In Moscow and the Moscow region, voters were detained for writing on ballots. According to RusNews, at a station in the Moscow district of Ramenki, a young man was detained for writing “Putin is a killer.” OVD-Info reports on two more similar cases: in Odintsovo, a man was detained who wrote the word “boycott” in the voter list book and tried to take away a ballot; in Podolsk, a local resident was detained . What exactly she wrote on the ballot is unknown.

On the second day of the elections, in several more polling stations the ballot boxes were filled with green paint or attempted to do so: in the Krasnoyarsk Territory , Kaliningrad and Belgorod Regions, Borisoglebsk and Yekaterinburg . Another case occurred in the village of Maima in the Altai Republic: a criminal case was opened against a woman. It became the 16th case under Article 141 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, initiated within two election days.

The head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, stated that as a result of attempts to set fire to or flood ballot boxes, 214 ballots were irretrievably damaged. Similar incidents, she said, occurred at 29 precincts.

Two defendants in cases of obstructing the work of election commissions were sent to pre-trial detention. In St. Petersburg, a girl was arrested who the day before threw a Molotov cocktail on the porch of a school where two PECs are located; in Moscow, a girl was arrested for filling a ballot box with green stuff.

The overall turnout in the elections by 21:00 Moscow time exceeded 58%, the CEC reported .
