The ex-head of Navalny's headquarters in Ufa, Liliya Chanysheva, was transported from IK-28 Berezniki, Perm Territory. Her husband Almaz Gatin spoke about this on Twitter.
It is unknown where Chanysheva is located.
In the summer of 2023, Chanysheva was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison, a fine of 400 thousand rubles, a seven-year ban on administering websites, holding and attending public events, and two years of restriction of freedom after serving her sentence. A month later, the decision was approved , but the prosecutor’s office considered it “soft.” Deputy Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Tkachev said that he would seek a ten-year sentence for Chanysheva. In March 2024, the cassation sent the case for a new trial in the appellate instance.
The activist was tried under articles about the creation of an extremist community and/or participation in it using her official position (Part 3 of Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code), public calls for extremist activities (Part 1 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code) and participation in the activities of NGOs that infringe on the personality and rights of citizens (Part 3 of Article 239 of the Criminal Code). She was released from the last two charges due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, but the appellate court added two aggravating circumstances to the case: the commission of a crime by a group of people and motivated by political enmity.
On March 21, Liliya Chanysheva was taken to pre-trial detention center No. 5 in Perm. Her lawyer Ramil Gizatullin reported this on a telegram channel.
