Commentator Vasily Utkin died

The journalist and sports commentator Vasily Utkin died. The Match TV reports about his death. Information in a conversation with Sports.ru was also confirmed by journalists Andrei Pankov and Grant Getadaryan. Utkin was 52 years old.

Sports.ru and Baza Telegram channel claim that Utkin died due to heart problems. According to BAZA, on the afternoon of March 19, a journalist was taken to the Cardiological Department of the Pirogov Hospital on an ambulance. Doctors diagnosed him with acute vascular failure, the channel claims. The preliminary cause of death Baza calls the pulmonary artery thromboembolism.

Vasily Utkin gained fame in the 1990s, when he began to conduct the “Football Club” on NTV. He regularly commented on football broadcasts on the TV channel until 2015. Since 1996, he worked at many Olympic Games. In 2004 and 2005, Utkin received the TEFI award in the nomination "Best Sports Commentator".
