On March 6, the Central District Military Court in Samara sentenced local resident Viktor Aryutin to a fine of 350 thousand rubles under the article on calls for terrorism on the Internet (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) due to a comment on one of the social networks. This was reported in a press release from the court, whichwas brought to the attention of the SOVA Center.
The name of the convicted person is specified in the case file. In addition to the main punishment, he was banned from administering websites and channels for two years.
According to investigators, Aryutin, “wishing to encourage an unlimited number of people to encroach on the lives of senior officials of the Russian Federation in order to stop state activities,” published a publicly available comment with a “call for terrorist activity” on one of the social networks.
A person with the same full name was proposed by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation in 2020 to join the reserve of the territorial election commission of the Oktyabrsky district of Samara.
