The investigation of the person involved in the case of mass protests in Baymak, Rayat Davletbaev, has ended. He was finally charged under articles on participation in mass riots (Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code) and the use of violence against a government official (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by his lawyer from OVD-Info, Anastasia Stepanova.
Davletbaev was detained after the people's gathering, which took place on January 17. On this day, the court in Baymak sentenced the Bashkir activist and ex-leader of the Bashkort movement Fail Alsynov to four years in a general regime colony under the article of inciting hatred or enmity (Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code). Alsynov’s associates gathered at the court.
After the verdict was announced, security forces began to detain protesters, and clashes began. Some participants in the gathering were subsequently arrested . In addition, the security forces opened a criminal case against the protesters under articles on organizing mass riots (Part 1 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code) and participation in them (Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code), as well as under the article on the use of violence against security forces (Article 212 of the Criminal Code). 318 CC). Protests in the region continued; on January 19, some protesters were detained again.
Before his arrest, Rayat Davletbaev was engaged in raising livestock and running a farm. He is interested in beekeeping and loved to go hiking along the river with his family. In mid-January he was sent to a pre-trial detention center.
