Rescuers continue to clear the rubble. They managed to dismantle 91 cubic meters. Heavy equipment was involved in the work to clear the rubble. At the same time, Crocus City Hall burned down almost completely - firefighters were able to extinguish the fire only the next day after the terrorist attack. During the fire, the roof of the hall collapsed.

The shooting began at Crocus City Hall on March 22 before the concert of the Picnic group. Footage appeared on social networks showing people running away or hiding under seats to the sound of machine gun fire.

The day after the terrorist attack, the FSB announced that four suspects in the terrorist attack had been detained in the Bryansk region. They were detained within a few hours of each other. The FSB claimed that after the terrorist attack, the suspects were allegedly planning to cross the border between Russia and Ukraine.

The New York Times, citing American officials, wrote that ISIS was responsible for the attack. At the same time, information was disseminated in Russian pro-government telegram channels that the information about ISIS’s involvement in the terrorist attack was fake. ISIS later called the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall “the most brutal attack in recent years.” Media sources reported that US authorities warned Russian authorities before the attack that it could happen.

A few days before the terrorist attack, Vladimir Putin called Western reports about a possible terrorist attack in Moscow “blackmail.” “All this resembles outright blackmail and the intention to intimidate and destabilize our society,” Putin said on March 19 during an FSB board meeting.
