The Basmanny Court of Moscow sent to pre-trial detention until May 22 the four accused of committing a terrorist act (part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code) at Crocus City Hall on March 22 - Dalerjon Mirzoev, Saidakrami Murodali Rachabalizoda, Shamsidin Fariduni and Muhammadsobir Fayzov. Mediazona reports this, citing its own correspondent in court.
The selection of a preventive measure against all four took place behind closed doors—representatives of the investigation asked the court to do so, citing the risk of disclosing “state or other secrets,” as well as a threat to the safety of the participants in the process.
All four defendants were brought to court with bodily injuries and signs of torture, most of which were absent from the video of their arrest.
So, Mirzoev was brought to court with bruises on his face and a swollen eye. He had pieces of a plastic bag and tape around his neck. During the announcement of the decision, he was unable to stand on his own and leaned his elbows on the wall of the “aquarium” for the defendants. Later, the United Press Service of the Moscow Courts reported that during the selection of a preventive measure, Mirzoev fully admitted his guilt.
Rachabalizoda was also brought to court with bruises to his face and a bandage on his right ear. On March 23, a video of his arrest circulated online. In it, a security officer cut off part of a detainee’s ear and stuffed it into his mouth. According to the joint press service of the Moscow courts, Rachabalizoda also admitted his guilt.
There are also visible bruises on Fariduni's face and his left cheek is severely swollen. The day before, telegram channels close to the security forces published a photo showing Fariduni being tortured with electric shock. In the photo, the alleged terrorist lies on the floor with his pants down, and wires are attached to his genital area, presumably from a military field telephone, which security forces often use for torture during interrogations.
The fourth defendant, Muhammadsobir Fayzov, was taken to the courtroom on a gurney and accompanied by doctors. He had a catheter and a urine bag installed, and he himself, according to journalists, did not react in any way to what was happening. The judge ignored Fayzov’s condition, and when the hearing was closed, the doctors accompanying him were taken out of the room.
The United Press Service of the Moscow Courts did not report the guilty pleas of Fariduni and Faizov; they probably did not do so.
By the morning of March 25, according to official data, 137 people were killed and another 182 injured as a result of the terrorist attack in Crocus. 62 bodies have been identified.
