As a result of the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall near Moscow, 139 people were killed. Interfax writes that the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, announced this at a meeting on measures taken after the terrorist attack.
“As a result of the attack, 139 people died, 75 of them have been identified today. Three children were among the dead. Of the total number, 137 died at the scene of the terrorist attack, two died in medical institutions,” Bastrykin said.
At the moment, it has been established that 40 people died from gunshot wounds, another 45 due to a fire set by the attackers, said the chairman of the Investigative Committee. According to him, 182 people received injuries of varying severity as a result of the terrorist attack.
Bastrykin said that the investigation has reconstructed the chronology of the terrorist attack. Thus, according to investigators, the terrorists opened fire on people near the Crocus building at 19:58 on March 22, then entered the building, continuing to shoot, set fire to the concert hall with gasoline and at 20:00: 11 escaped. After the terrorist attack, the attackers also knocked down a family with two children in the Crocus parking lot.
According to the head of the Investigative Committee, all four perpetrators of the terrorist attack admitted guilt and also gave detailed testimony about the customers and those who assisted in its preparation. In turn, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that during the entire period after the terrorist attack, 145 people were taken to hospitals. 52 victims have already been discharged from hospitals, another 93 people, including five children, remain in hospital treatment. The condition of nine victims, including one child, is assessed as serious.
