President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko instructed to harshly respond to possible provocations on the border from the adjacent states. He stated this while checking the combat readiness of formations and military units.
“I will publicly say: any provocation should be suppressed by armed path. There is nothing to joke with them. They violated the state border - to destruction. No one should ceremony with anyone. And we will do so ... Therefore, any violation of the state border is destroyed. They understand only power,” said Lukashenko.
The commander of the troops of the North-West operational command, Alexander Naumenko, announced a complex situation in the north-west direction. According to him, near the state border of Belarus, anti -tank ditches, fire positions are created on the border territory,,
Lithuania and Latvia strengthened the guard of the state border. The total number of forces involved in the protection of the Belarusian section of the state border is about 3.2 thousand people, including in Lithuania - up to 2.8 thousand people, in Latvia - up to 500.
Alexander Naumenko noted that now on the territory of a number of countries, including Lithuania and Poland, the exercises "Quadriga-2024" are held. Within the framework of the exercise at the Prading training ground (15 km from the state border), three battalions are concentrated (infantry and mechanized UHF battalions and the US tank battalion).
At the same time, the battalions located at the Pobing training ground can be involved in the provocative actions near the state border with the use of sabotage and reconnaissance groups and illegal armed groups, Naumenko noted.
Also, according to him, air intelligence against Belarus is underway. On average, 4-5 reconnaissance aircraft aircraft are recorded daily. Currently, 132 combat aircraft of the NATO aviation group are based on the northwestern operating direction.
“Do they seriously think that we are trying with the Russians or attack them? Why are the anti -tank ditches, why are they digging ... We are not going to go there,” Alexander Lukashenko commented on the border.
He emphasized that " we should not relax. We are sure that if we calm down somewhere, they will attack us. This is absolutely for sure. But we are not going to go there."
