Lukashenko commented on the detention of terrorists after an attack on the Moscow Crocus City Hall near Moscow

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko commented on the surgery of terrorists who attacked visitors to the Crocus City Hall near Moscow. As follows from his statement, terrorists planned to hide in Belarus. But in the end, they could not do this thanks to the measures undertaken by the special services.

“They could not go to Belarus. Their curators (we have suspicions of some, I will call Putin, I will say my suspicions) understood that you couldn’t go to Belarus. Because in the first minutes, how part of the region switched to an enhanced security regime,” Lukashenko said .

According to him, in the first minutes after the terrorist attack, the unit was put on combat readiness. In particular, the forces of the Ministry of the Interior were involved, posts on the roads, including Russia, attracted the forces of the State Security Committee, the State Border Committee, and some units of the military.

Lukashenko said that the special services of Belarus and Russia acted according to a previously given algorithm. As soon as information received from the special services that the car with the terrorists was moving in the direction of Bryansk, an agreement was reached that Belarus was blocking its area of ​​the probable movement of criminals, and the Russian side - its own.

“Therefore, they could not go to Belarus in any way. They saw it. Therefore, they turned away and went to a section of the Ukrainian -Russian border,” Lukashenko emphasized.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed to the "Kiev trail" in a terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall near Moscow. The head of the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) Alexander Bortnikov accused Ukraine of complicity of a terrorist attack.

“I can definitely say that the political background is present and some Islamists could not prepare such an action. Of course, they helped them. And we see, firstly, the Ukrainian trace here,” Bortnikov said .

According to him, the received primary data from the detainees confirm this.

“Therefore, we will continue to modify the information that, in general, should show us the really presence and participation of the Ukrainian side or not? But so far there is every reason to say that this is exactly what, since the bandits themselves intended to go abroad, precisely on the territory of Ukraine. According to our preliminary operational information, they were waiting for them there,” the head of the FSB noted.

President Vladimir Zelenskyrejected Putin's accusations of Ukraine’s involvement in the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall near Moscow, calling him a "sick and cynical creature" , who "all terrorists, except for himself."

On the evening of March 22, a group of armed people attacked the Crocus City Hall concert hall with a capacity of about 7,000 people located in the Moscow Region. According to eyewitnesses, soon after this there was an explosion and a fire began, which covered most of the building. Later there was a second explosion.

On March 23, the FSB of Russia announced the detention of four terrorists by law enforcement agencies, who " took a direct part " in the attack on the Moscow Crocus City Hall concert hall, which was committed on March 22.

The detention occurred in the Bryansk region. The FSB said that after the attack, the suspects tried to hide, supposedly moving by car towards the Russian-Ukrainian border.

After the attack, the suspects allegedly " intended to cross the Russian-Ukrainian border, had appropriate contact on the Ukrainian side ," said the FSB Central Union.

The representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Andrei Yusov called the “ nonsense ” information that after the attack on the near Moscow Crocus City Hall concert hall, the terrorists allegedly intended to cross the Russian-Ukrainian border .

On March 7, the American Embassy and diplomatic mission of the EU participating countries in Russia on their sites published warnings about the impending terrorist attack in Moscow. They recommended that their citizens leave the Russian Federation. Then the Russian authorities publicly turned to the American authorities with a request to provide additional information.

According to CNN, American intelligence transmitted information about this to the Russian side. The organizers were called ISIS -K ("Vilayat Khorasan") - a branch of the Islamic State terrorist organization, operating in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Turkmenistan.

On the evening of March 24, the Basmanny Court arrested four accused in the attack of the terrorist attack on March 22 in Crocus City Hall near Moscow.

On March 25, at the request of the investigation, the Basmanny Court arrested three more defendants in a criminal case of a terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall.

According to official figures, 137 people died in total as a result of the attack. More than 180 were injured.
