Peskov: it is inappropriate to talk about the consequences if Kyiv is involved in the terrorist attack at Crocus

Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that it is too early to speculate on whether Kiev's possible involvement in the Crocus terrorist attack will affect Moscow's readiness for peace negotiations.

“An investigation is underway. Reasoning in the “if” mode is now inappropriate,” Peskov told TASS.

The day before, Vladimir Putin said that the terrorist attack in Crocus was carried out by radical Islamists and wondered why they tried to hide in Ukraine.

“We know that the crime was committed by radical Islamists, whose ideology the Islamic world itself has been fighting for centuries. But we also see that the United States, through various channels, is trying to convince its satellites and other countries of the world that, according to their intelligence data, there is supposedly no Kyiv trace in the Moscow terrorist attack, that the bloody terrorist attack was carried out by followers of Islam, members of the ISIS organization banned in Russia. The question immediately arises: who benefits from this? This atrocity can only be a link in a whole series of attempts by those who have been fighting our country since 2014 at the hands of the neo-Nazi Kiev regime,” Putin said .

In turn, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky called Putin a “sick and cynical creature” after his words about Kiev’s possible involvement in the terrorist attack.

“Today Putin talked to himself again, and it was broadcast on television again. Again he blames Ukraine. A sick and cynical creature. All of him are terrorists, except himself, although he has been feeding on terror for two decades. It is he who is the biggest window for terror. He and his special services,” Zelensky said in an evening address on March 25.
