In Cheboksary on March 23, police detained local resident Igor Belov, who was holding a “STOP MADNESS” picket on Republic Square. This was reported by the Angry Chuvashia telegram channel.
According to the picketer himself, by picketing he wanted to express dissatisfaction with the incompetence of the authorities, who were unable to prevent the terrorist attack in Moscow and did not carry out the rescue operation quickly enough, which is why many people died.
The police took Belov to the department, and a few hours later they released him without drawing up a report.
- According to the federal law on rallies, it is not necessary to notify the authorities about a single picket and agree on its location. Despite this, throughout Russia, picketers are regularly detained under various pretexts. You can read more about the rules for conducting a single picket in our instructions .
