Crime boss Shakro Molodoy was released early. What is he known for?

Thief in law Zakhary Kalashov was involved in extortion in Russia and laundered money in Spain

Kalashov served his sentence in correctional colony No. 2 in the village of Dvubratsky, Ust-Labinsky district, Krasnodar region. The court decision on his early release was made on March 13 behind closed doors. Telegram channels wrote that the reason for his release was the poor health of 70-year-old Kalashov, namely, a sharp deterioration in vision due to diabetes. This was reported by the SHOT telegram channel.

The thief in law’s lawyer, Tengiz Papaskua, said that his client was “so bad” that he was not taken to court - he participated in the hearing via video link.

What is thief in law Shakro Molodoy famous for?

Kalashov is a Yezidi Kurd by nationality. “New Europe” wrote that he was crowned thieves in law in 1971 at the age of 21 under the name Shakro Kurd. But since he was often confused with another thief in law Shakro Svan (Shakro Kakachia), in the world of thieves they decided to rename both: Kalashov got the nickname Shakro Young, and Kakachia - Shakro Old . Until the end of the 80s, Kalashov lived in Georgia, after which he moved to Moscow and joined the group formed by Vyacheslav Ivankov (Yaponchik).

After Yaponchik left for the USA, the status of the number one thief in Russia passed to Aslan Usoyan (Ded Khasan), and Shakro Molodoy became his representative. At the end of the 90s, after a conflict with the Izmailovskaya organized crime group and a number of assassination attempts, Kalashov left for Spain. There he did not leave his previous occupation and became actively involved in money laundering. His activities did not go unnoticed by the Spanish intelligence services, which in 2005 carried out the anti-mafia operation “Osa”, as a result of which several dozen “authorities” were arrested , but Shakro Molodoy himself was able to escape. In 2006, he was arrested in Dubai and extradited back to Spain. There he was sentenced to 9 years in prison for money laundering and creating a criminal group.

After the verdict, the Spanish authorities received two requests for Kalashov’s extradition: from Russia and Georgia, where he was sentenced to 18 years for kidnapping and organizing an illegal armed group. He could not stay in the Pyrenees, since when the verdict was passed, the court separately decided that after serving his sentence, Kalashov was prohibited from entering Spain for ten years. As a result, the court decided to expel him to Russia, to which he returned in October 2014. The thief was taken to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he had a preventative conversation and was released.

Why Shakro Molodoy served his sentence

Shakro Molodoy was detained again in July 2016 in the case of extortion from the owner of the Elements restaurant, Zhanna Kim. According to investigators, Kalashov and his accomplices extorted 8 million rubles from Kim. As a result of a shootout near an establishment on Rochdelskaya Street in Moscow, in which ten people participated, five people were injured, two later died in hospital
In March 2018, Kalashov and 13 of his accomplices were found guilty of extortion (Article 163 of the Criminal Code) with the use of violence, as part of an organized group and with the aim of seizing property on an especially large scale. In addition, a second episode appeared in the case - about extortion from Nordneftegaz General Director Lev Garamov. According to the investigation, Kalashov and his accomplices extorted 10 million rubles from Garamov, the businessman received threats for several months, and then was beaten.

The indictment named Shakro Molodoy as the " leader of the Russian criminal world " and the head of a multi-level criminal structure. The court sentenced him to nine years and ten months in prison.

Earlier, “Verstka” wrote that Sergei Khadzhikurbanov, a defendant in the case of Anna Politkovskaya’s murder, was released early from the colony . His official prison term ended in 2034, but he went to war in Ukraine and received a pardon. Khadzhikurbanov rose to the rank of battalion commander and then extended his contract with the Ministry of Defense. Other criminals who had no chance of parole are also released early. “Verstka” previously learned the stories of Wagner PMC mercenaries from the St. Petersburg maximum security colony and went to the funeral of one of them.
