The Uralmash machine-building plant caught fire in Yekaterinburg. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire area is about four and a half thousand square meters.
Channel 112 also notes that there are flammable paint and varnish materials inside the burning building. Shot writes about the same thing. According to the channel, factory workshop No. 57 caught fire, containing about 500 liters of varnish. At the same time, the publication E1.ru, citing its own source, claims that a transformer production workshop, inside of which there are seven thousand liters of oil, caught fire.
The Telegram channel “Light of Yekaterinburg” reports that the roof collapsed in one of the workshops.
In turn, the press service of Uralmash denied information about the fire. “An object that does not belong to Uralmashzavod and is located far from UZTM production facilities is on fire,” a plant representative told Kommersant. However, later, in a commentary to RIA Novosti, the press service admitted that a workshop on the territory of the plant was on fire.
What caused the fire is still unknown. No injuries were reported.
