We are the team of Novaya Gazeta Europe, and on April 7, our startup is two years old. Until February 24, 2022, most of us worked in the famous Novaya Gazeta. Now we are scattered around the world, but we continue to tell the truth about the war and the country as journalists.

For two years we have been working in exile. For two years we have been outside the field of Russian censorship, we call the war war and do not celebrate the names of people called by our state by “foreign agents”. We selected thirteen articles for this book: these are reports from Russia about Russia, they could not be published in Russia.

Articles are located in chronological order. On the counter, one hundred twenty -sixth, three hundred and fifty -second, five hundred and eighty -eighth day of the war. You will transfer with our reporters from the Belgorod region to the Khabarovsk Territory, from Buryatia to Karelia, from the Chelyabinsk region to the Ivanovo, from Volgograd to the Perm Territory, and observe how Russian realities are changing for two war years. This book is a documentary chronicle of the fall of our country into the abyss.

We were forced to sign almost all of these reports with pseudonyms - otherwise our correspondents who talk about what we saw with their own eyes risk getting to the bars. But war and censorship will end, and we will return their names to journalists. And this book will turn into a historical document.
