Two people died due to storm winds in Moscow. Another 15 people were injured

Two people died and 15 more were injured due to bad weather in Moscow, said city mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

“Today bad weather hit Moscow - strong winds with temperature changes. Wind gusts reached more than 21 m/s. <…> But, unfortunately, there were victims. 17 victims, two of them died,” Sobyanin said.

The mayor expressed condolences to the families of the victims. According to him, the victims are receiving the necessary medical care.

Sobyanin noted that Moscow authorities notified residents in advance about the bad weather and promptly closed large city parks, as well as other open public places. It was reported that owners of cafes and restaurants were advised to remove street verandas, and city services were placed on high alert.

On the evening of April 3, the telegram channel of the Moscow municipal services complex reported that cases of falling trees and damage to structures were recorded in the capital.

Telegram channel “112” published photographs and videos of cars damaged when trees fell and the skin of one of the buildings fell.
