4 exhibitions in St. Petersburg: African art, rare editions of Fonvizin and other expositions
"Paper" tells what expositions to pay attention to this weekend.
In the main headquarters, by the end of the year, you can inspect the exhibition “ Beauty as a Rhythm ” with works of traditional African art of the XIX-XX centuries from the Hermitage Collection. Five wooden female figures created by representatives of three African cultures were presented to visitors: Dan, Baman and Mosi.
Another “African” exhibition works at Arts Square Gallery until April 9th. Guests can see African masks and sculpture from the collection of Janina Dubaykovskaya, as well as the painting and graphics of the artist Marina IKOKO .
At the Derzhavin museum, Derzhavin on the Fontanka embankment opened an exposition dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Denis Fonvizin -the writer of the Catherine’s era and the author of the Undergraduate. The main exhibits of the exhibition were rare publications of his comedies and a portrait of the writer of the work of the French painter Arman Charles Caraff.
The Museum of Modern Art of Artmuz shows visitors more than 80 works by Andrei Bliok , an artist whose work is in the collections of the Russian Museum, the Hermitage-Collection Center and other meetings in Russia and abroad. The exhibition presents mainly the schedules of Bliok, although the author’s picturesque works in Artmuz were also put up.
