Why broke a dam

The operational services informed TASS that the dam, unable to withstand the flow of water, completely collapsed. As far as I know, now people are evacuated from the city. Pensioners, elderly people live mainly in the Old City. There is a private sector, and there are no apartment buildings. Some are outraged that they were not immediately notified, and in general they are not very satisfied that the mayor and governor seemed to be rejected from this and are not actively acting.

My relatives live in the very center of the city, there is an elevation, and in general it is very far away. Because the city of Orsk is included in the top 10 cities in area ( 621.33 km².- approx. Ed. ) . It is very large, there are many areas that do not even know anything about rain and water.

The prosecutor's office of the Orenburg region said that the GOSTHDZD bodies previously identified violations in the maintenance of the dam. “During the supervisory measures, it was established that the construction was commissioned in 2010. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under two articles due to the breakthrough of the dam-about violation of safety rules in the conduct of construction work (part 1 of article 216 of the Criminal Code) and negligence (part 1 of article 293 of the Criminal Code).

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health of the Orenburg Region revealed a novirus - the causative agent of acute intestinal infection - in the samples of 18 residents of Orsk, who sought medical help on April 4–5. Eight people were hospitalized. All patients drank water from the tap. Infected - residents of three streets of Orsk (which particular, the department does not specify).

“The Office of Rospotrebnadzor and the operational medical headquarters decided to turn off the water supply in the houses on this site to exclude consumption for drinking purposes and the possibility of washing and disinfecting this water supply section. The city administration and management companies must provide residents with drinking and technical water.

All residents of the Orenburg region were also called upon to use only bottled or boiled water for drinking and cooking and wash their hands.
