The Russian authorities arrange exhibitions in honor of the convicted in the United States of the “weapons baron” Viktor Buta. This is what the exposition in Crimea looks like

Viktor But is a Russian entrepreneur who was convicted in the United States in April 2012 in the case of illegal weapons trade in Africa and the Middle East, as well as the support of terrorism and conspiracy to kill the United States. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison. In December 2022, the US authorities exchanged Buta for a basketball player Britney Grainer, detained at the Moscow airport with cartridges for vape with hash oil and convicted of drug smuggling.

After returning to Russia, Butu was proposed by political prospects: already in December 2022 he became a member of the LDPR. Initially, the media suggested that he would participate in the sizes in the State Duma from the Crimea, but this did not happen. In September 2023, the former weapon merchant on the party list was elected as a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Ulyanovsk Region. In addition, since 2023, Buta, made in an American prison, have been exhibited throughout Russia. For example, the expositions were organized at the Museum of the Political History of Russia in St. Petersburg, the Buryat Center for Modern Art “Zaluu” and in Moscow-in the Russian Fund of the World in the Gallery at Mosfilm. In April 2024, the exhibition was opened in Sevastopol, it is called "My Board is a thin line." The exposition takes place in the lobby of the Sevastopol Center for Culture and Arts, in which the musicians of the local symphonic orchestra, theatrical figures and other artists perform. According to the Novo-Europe specialist report, the exhibition is not popular: so, after the start of one of the performances of artists in the lobby, only two people-a visitor to the exhibition and a reporter.
