In the Orenburg region, residents are evacuated from the neighboring Orsk Novotroitsk due to overflow through a protective dam. The water level in the Ural River within the city was 8.5 meters. This was announced by the governor of the region Denis Pasler.
The dam was built after a large -scale flood of 1957 and protects the city from water, which during the flood period fills the ozero of the carp.
Earlier it was reported that in the region, in addition to the Urals, another river - Elshanka, is released, in addition to the Urals. The city of the Orenburg region of Orsk suffered most of all from the elements. It began to fill it with water after a breakthrough on the night of April 6 of a protective dam along the Ural River. More than 4,500 residential buildings and garden plots are flooded in the city. The water level per day increased by 16 centimeters to 872 centimeters.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under articles on negligence and violation of security rules when conducting construction work due to a breakthrough of the dam. More than 10 years ago, embankment dams were built on both shores of the Urals in Orsk to protect the city from the flood. This year, due to the strong flood, it had to increase the discharge of water from the Iriklinsky reservoir with a strong flood on the hydroelectric power station. The dams could not stand the pressure of water. According to the department, the cause of the breakthrough was "untimely measures taken, aimed at maintaining the dam in proper technical condition."
The Ministry of Health of Russia said that 99 people turned to Medical help in the situation in Orsk, including 18 children, of which 6 adults and 3 children were hospitalized
The mayor of Orenburg, Sergei Salmin, said that the city has not seen such a big water for many decades.
