
Alexander Demidenko, a Belgorod volunteer, who helped Ukrainian refugees returned home, died in a pre -trial detention center. Death occurred on April 5, but this became known only on April 8, writes Ov.info. The son of Demidenko confirmed the death of his father.
Demidenko was in a pre -trial detention center in the case of the illegal circulation of explosive devices. According to investigators, the volunteer kept weapons at home from the Second World War.
Since the beginning of a full -scale war against Ukraine, Demidenko helped Ukrainian refugees return home, brought them to the border and took them at home. In mid -October, when the volunteer helped the elderly Ukrainian cross the border, he was detained at the Kolotilovka checkpoint in the Belgorod region. Three days later, the security forces brought him home and searched him. Then his wife Natalya Vishnevskaya noticed numerous traces of torture on her husband’s body.
A week later it became known that the man was arrested for ten days. On November 1, he was sent to a pre -trial detention center.
At the end of November 2023, information appeared about the second criminal case against him - under the article on the Stateizer, but the lawyer Demidenko said that he was not officially reported about the initiation of a new case.
In December, 61-year-old Demidenko refused to let go from custody on bail.
