Airlines were recommended to serve war veterans in Ukraine without queues

The Federal Air Transport Agency recommended that Russian airlines and airports serve participants in the war in Ukraine as a priority. RBC writes about this with reference to a telegram, the authenticity of which was confirmed by two sources in different airlines.

The head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, Dmitry Yadrov, in particular, recommended giving this category of citizens priority when registering for flights and going through the screening procedure at airports. Also, representatives of airports and airlines are asked to eliminate cases of incorrect communication between personnel and military personnel, as well as to help them at all stages of transportation.

“I ask you to take measures to ensure correct and attentive service at airports and on board aircraft of military personnel who are participants in the Air Force. Conduct appropriate briefings with employees and services providing services to passengers at airports and aircraft crews,” Yadrov writes in the telegram.

In addition, the document notes that airlines should help war veterans rebook flights if they miss their flights for valid reasons. And war participants with mobility limitations, as follows from the telegram, are recommended to be placed in the most comfortable places.

The Sheremetyevo press service confirmed receipt of the telegram, but the Federal Air Transport Agency declined to comment.

This year, conflicts with participants in the war in Ukraine arose among several airlines. At Pobeda at least twice. In March, due to overbooking, a man who had recently returned from the front was unable to fly to Sochi. Another military man was removed from a flight because of smoking in the plane's toilet. He did not admit guilt, and the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin , ordered to initiate a criminal case. “The smoke detectors did not work, and no other facts were established to support these claims,” the Investigative Committee said in a statement.

In February, an incident occurred on board an S7 Airlines plane, which was flying from Moscow to Yakutsk. As reported, the drunken military man began to insult the flight attendants, who called the police.

Last year, after takeoff, a military man demanded to open the passenger door, and when he was refused, he went to “talk” to the commander of the ship. The plane was then urgently landed and the rowdy was handed over to the security forces.
