The deputy chairman of the Chelyabinsk city branch of the Yabloko party, Javid Agayev, was detained in an administrative case for demonstrating extremist symbols (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code).
Agayev himself told the “Chelyabinsk of the Future” project about this.
“Since the article provides for arrest for up to 15 days, they want to leave the activist overnight at the police station,” the project notes.
As Agayev clarified, he is in the Central Police Department. It is still unknown what kind of symbolism he is charged with demonstrating.
“Javid Agayev was one of the first detained at the anti-war rally on the day of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine - February 24, 2022. After that, he served 15 days of administrative arrest in a special detention center,” adds the ChB.
