A court in Tyumen fined activist Anton Kovrik 300 thousand rubles in the case of donations to FBK

Omsk activist Anton Kovrik was sentenced to a fine of 300 thousand rubles in the case of financing extremism (Part 1 of Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code), the publication 7x7 reports , citing the press service of the court. Kovrik's case was heard by the Central District Court of Tyumen.

According to the security forces, the activist sent donations to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK). Kovrik was detained in Omsk on September 6 and taken to Tyumen. At the end of the same month it became known about his arrest. On September 21, Rosfinmonitoring added Kovrik to the “list of extremists and terrorists.”

Little is known about the activist's case. According to information from OVD-Info and 72.RU , he previously participated in rallies in support of opposition leader Alexei Navalny and against the war in Ukraine.

In February, in similar cases of donations to FBK, Irkutsk resident Alexey Kamkin was sentenced to three years of probation, and Syktyvkar resident Vyacheslav Hertsberg was fined 300 thousand rubles.
