A court in Tyumen fined activist Anton Kovrik 300 thousand rubles in the case of donations to FBK. He was released from punishment, including his time in pre-trial detention center.

A court in Tyumen sentenced Omsk activist Anton Kovrik, accused of financing extremist activities, to a fine of 300 thousand rubles, reports the publication “7×7. Horizontal Russia".

The press service of the regional courts clarified to the publication that the activist was released from punishment, including the time he spent in a pre-trial detention center.

According to the Omsk Civil Association project, Kovrik was detained on September 6. A search was carried out in the activist’s apartment, during which law enforcement officers confiscated all the equipment. The reason for the arrest was not known at that time, but on that day searches in connection with cases of FBK donations took place in at least three more regions of Russia.

After this, the activist was taken to Tyumen. It soon became known that Kovrik was detained for donating to FBK. It was not specified what amount was discussed. That same month, the activist was included in the list of “extremists and terrorists” and placed in a pre-trial detention center.

No other details about Kovrik's case were reported. According to the Omsk Civil Association, in 2021, an activist was detained during a rally in support of politician Alexei Navalny. In 2022, Kovrik was fined 40 thousand rubles under the article on “discrediting” the Russian army for an anti-war picket.

• The Prosecutor General's Office demanded that FBK and Navalny's headquarters, opened by the politician during his presidential election campaign, be declared “extremist organizations” in April 2021. After this, headquarters in the regions announced closure.
