Three sons of Hamas Politburo leader killed in strike on Gaza Strip

Three sons of the leader of the political wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, were killed in an Israeli strike on the Gaza Strip, the Qatari TV channel Al-Jazeera reported.

According to the TV channel, the strike was carried out on the Al-Shati refugee camp near Gaza. Al Jazeera claims that the strike was carried out by the Israeli military. The IDF did not comment on this information.

Haniyeh confirmed that three of his sons - Hazem, Amir and Mohammed - and several grandchildren were killed in the shelling while visiting relatives in a refugee camp during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which ends the month of Ramadan.

“I thank Allah for this honor that he has given us through the martyrdom of my three sons and several grandchildren,” he told Al Jazeera, adding that 60 members of his family have been killed since the war began.

Haniyeh also said that Israel seeks “to break the resistance of the Palestinian people through the murder of the children of Hamas leaders.” The attack on his family, the leader of the Hamas Politburo noted, will not change the group’s position in the ceasefire negotiations with Israel, which have been conducted through mediators in recent months.
