Political scientist Sergei Karaganov, who a year ago called for a “preventive nuclear strike” on Europe, has an apartment in Berlin. Bild writes about this on April 11.
According to the publication, Karaganov owns an apartment in the Prenzlauer Berg area with an area of 52 square meters and rents it out, receiving 850 euros monthly.
In March 2023, writes Bild, Karaganov learned that he would soon be included in the sanctions lists, after which he executed a deed of donation of his share in the apartment to his wife, who is a co-owner of the property.
However, as the publication writes, German authorities challenged the legality of the deal, and it was declared invalid. Thus, Karaganov remained a co-owner of the apartment, but due to sanctions he cannot receive income from it.
