
The American pharmaceutical company MSD, one of the largest in the world, by a quarter reduced the portfolio of drugs sold in Russia since the beginning of Russian invasion of Ukraine. This is written by the newspaper "Kommersant".
According to the publication, MSD had the most noticeable reduction among representatives of international pharmaceutical producers in Russia. According to the Director of the Development of RNC Pharma, Nikolai Bespalov, in 2022 the MSD supplied 38 drugs to Russia, and in 2023 - 29. By noticeable losses, he called the ReniTite antihypertension, the Ianuvius and Yanumet, as well as the measles, rubzine and mumps.
The report of the MSD unit in Russia "MSD Farmasyutikals" says that the company also stopped the production of finished products on the site of the Russian pharmaceutical company Akrikhin - in particular, Yanuvia and Yanumet were produced there.
In August last year, it became known that MSD will stop supplying a medicine for hepatitis with Zepatier to Russia. However, the company said that this decision would not affect the supply planned in 2024.
