In 2023, damage to the air, soils and water bodies of Russia grew almost three times, amounting to 226.8 billion rubles. The “cedar” drew attention to the report of Rosprirodnadzor.
Over the year, Russian companies and individual entrepreneurs caused air damage in the amount of 139.4 million rubles, soils - 47.7 billion rubles, water bodies - for 178.9 billion rubles. At the same time, the damage to the latter over the year increased ten times with a slight increase in the number of claims. It follows that the scale of harm done to the rivers, lakes and seas of Russia has increased. The department does not call the culprits of damage.
Of the entire amount of damage caused, only 3.6 billion rubles were able to recover, or a little more than 1.5%. Last year, when the damage to nature was three times smaller, the head of Rosprirodnadzor Svetlana Radovonova explained that the convicted enterprise "instantly goes into bankruptcy" - and nothing can be recovered from it.
