Chinese banks block the payments of Russian companies for the supply of components and sets for the assembly of electronics. About this writes "Kommersant" with reference to sources in the market.
According to them, the first difficulties with payment that arose in December concerned mainly finished products. Now there are problems with components for servers, data storage systems and laptops. Experts note that China actually acts as a monopoly supplier, so Russian companies may have serious difficulties and delayed production.
Payment is blocked "even for those organizations that have concluded long -term contracts for the production and supply of components for the assembly of electronics," said Alexander Kalinin, the founder of JSC Supply Mobile Initiative Holding.
According to him, since April, problems have arisen with components and “KIT-kits” (KIS-Cathes includes, in particular, processors, devices and screens). "Domestic developers who ordered components from China cannot begin the final assembly of their products in Russia," he said.
The chairman of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (REPP) Vitaly Mankevich says that the problem concerns not only payment for components for electronics, she affected almost all goods and services. Therefore, according to him, "so far the prospects are not rainbow."
Officially, China did not join sanctions against Russia in response to its full -scale invasion of Ukraine. However, after the restrictions, Chinese banks reduced work with Russian clients under sanctions.
So, in the summer of 2023, Russian financial organizations collided with the ban on making transfers, in particular in the yuan, to Europe and the USA through Bank of China, and in February this year, the main Chouzhou Commercial for Russian importers stopped all calculations with Russia.
On April 9, at a press conference in Beijing, the Minister of Finance of the United States Junet Yellen said that Chinese banks contributing to the export of military and dual-use goods to Russia can become objects of American sanctions.
Earlier, the United States imposed sanctions against several Chinese companies for a violation of the ban on exporting goods to Russia that can be used in military production.
