On the evening of April 5, a flood began in the Orenburg region as a result of the flood. In the city of Orsk, a dam broke through. Of the flooded areas of the city, several thousand people and their pets had to be evacuated. Moreover, if the Ministry of Emergencies provided the EMERCOM pets and their owners, then the homeless had to rely only on the help of volunteers. The photographer and ecological journalist Anastasia Troyanova arrived in Orsk on April 7 and spent six days in the city, taking people off people and animals against the backdrop of the elements.

Anastasia Troyanova: “As soon as I found out about the breakthrough of the dam on the night of April 5, it immediately became clear to me that the matter was bad and it was necessary to urgently advance to the fields. I arrived in Orsk on April 7 and immediately could break into the old city - the epicenter of floods. On the same day there was a peak of the flood. In the evening of the 7th, I could not leave the old city with other journalists, rescuers of the Ministry of Emergencies and local residents and remained cut off on the “island” near the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord. On April 8 in the afternoon, the water began to decrease a little bit and the flow calmed down, and only by dinner I was able to leave. ”
