On the evening of December 17, 1994, at home at the 27-year-old Alison Bota in the city of Port Elizabeth in South Africa was noisy and fun. Alison just turned to get things when the door of her car suddenly opened and a tall, thin man with a knife in his hands jumped inside. “Move or will kill you,” he said Alison. She mechanically grabbed the first shirt that came from a stack of things, behind which she reached out and moved to the passenger seat.

Abduction

“This is Tyons,” he added, turning to Alison.

They went outside the port of Elizabeth. The abductors said about something: Alison listened in a half, but remembered that it was about some kind of their familiar named Nalia and a stolen TV. When they stopped, Tyons got out of the car and lit a cigarette, and Alison was left alone with Clinton. She asked him what they needed from her. Alison called to the rescue and asked not to kill her, but France said: “Sorry,” grabbed her throat and began to strangle and stab with a knife in her stomach. Alison lost consciousness.

After some time, she came to her senses because she was thrown out of the car and cut her throat. Either recovering, then losing consciousness, Alison counted that she was stabbed in her throat 16 times.

Elison later recalled that she did not feel pain at all and thought she was a dream. At the same time, for the most part she remained conscious and realized that she needed to pretend to be dead in order to be left alone.

“Do you think she's dead?” - asked one of the attackers.

“No one could survive after that,” the other answered.

After some time, she heard the killers brought her “Renault” and left. Alison understood that she was dying, and decided that it was necessary to have time to write the names of the rapists with a finger on the sand. She forgot the name of Tyons - and wrote Tins. And turned off.

Angel in the flesh

After some time, Alison came into consciousness. According to her memoirs, she lay in the sand: her stomach was a spire and the organs fell out. She tried to insert them back. Alison felt for her jeans shirt next to her and pressed her to her stomach. She did not feel pain - only incredible fatigue. In this state, she crawled about 15 meters, and then, gathering the remaining forces, stood up and slowly went. The vision either disappeared, then returned, and the head pushed back due to cuts on the neck. With her free hand, she straightened her head and held her while walking.

Alison recalled that all that she thought at that moment was the sandals that slipped down, but hung on the fasteners and prevented the already difficult steps. Alison was afraid that if she stopped and tries to remove them, she would lose balance. But, deciding, she slowly bent down and unbuttoned the fastener. Straight, she stopped seeing something again, and her head began to spin.

The path seemed endless. Alison fell several times, but rose and continued to go. She was already ready to surrender when she saw a highway in front. Alison knocked down to the road surface and fell without strength. All that she could hope for is that one of the passing by.

So it happened. Very soon, the car stopped near Alison. Seeing her, the girl screaming from the car screamed and called for help. More and more people were surrounded by Alison. One man tried to talk to her, but she made out only inarticulate sounds.

The man turned out to be a veterinarian named Tiaan: Alison saw his friends on the road and stopped the car. Tiaan examined Alison. Her tongue was pale (which indicated huge blood loss), the respiratory tract was damaged, and the pulse was extremely weak. At first he paid attention only to her wounds on his neck, but then he saw the wound, which Alison closed with his shirt.

She was still conscious. Tiaan asked one of his friends to do her foot massage so that the blood continued to circulate. He asked her questions that Alison answered, drawing letters on her chest or clutching his hand: once - “yes”, twice - “no”. So he found out that two men attacked her. "What car were you on?" They waited an ambulance for about two hours: doctors rode a suburb for a long time. When Alison was taken to the hospital, Tiaan went with her. According to her memoirs, in an ambulance and in the hospital, he continued to speak with her and promised that everything would be fine. At 04:30 in the morning, Alison was taken to the operating room - Tiaana was not allowed into her, but, as Alison later recalled, "his calm and soft voice was constantly in her head."

Awakening

Alison survived . When she woke up in the hospital, she was surrounded by a father, who flew out of Johannesburg, a brother and wife, a friend of Kim, friends with whom they spent the evening of December 17, and the veterinarian Tiaan who saved her. He looked very tired, obviously did not sleep for a long time. He came because he promised that it would be with Alison, when she woke up. A few days later he gave her a cactus with the signature: "You are the most daring person I have met."

When Alison was able to talk with the police, she was shown an album with photos of criminals. Alison recognized France on one of them. It turned out that France Du Tua and his accomplice Tyons Kruger were on the list of suspects, because they had already charged them of rape - including a pregnant woman. Then the evidence was not enough, and they went on bail.

Soon they were arrested. In the police station, when the investigator read out the list of crimes, Tyons Kruger was surprised that they were accused of rape and an attempt to kill . Then they were told that their last victim survived and remembers everything that happened.

Upon learning of the salvation of Alison, France Du Tua and Tonses Kruger pleaded guilty. They were sentenced to life imprisonment.

Alison Bota was able to return to a normal life. In 2003, she gave birth to a son, whom Daniel called. From her words they wrote the book “I have life”, and in 2016 they shot the documentary “Alison”. Now she comes up with a story about the experience and protects the rights of victims of violence. Despite the fact that the criminals were sentenced without a chance to parole, in 2004, after amendments to the legislation, prisoners received such an opportunity on life.
