In two villages in the Kurgan region, bridges were washed away due to floods. This was announced by local governor Vadim Shumkov. He warned area residents about a “very difficult situation with rising water.”

One wooden bridge collapsed in the village of Temlyakovo. According to Shumkov, the structure is being carried by the current towards Kurgan. “This creates a risk of congestion,” the governor added. The second, pontoon bridge, was torn down by the current in the village of Lapteva. “For now, the lashings are holding him near the shore. The Ministry of Emergency Situations and the district are also tasked with taking all measures to secure it, if possible, get it out of the water so that it does not cause a jam,” Shumkov wrote.

The governor added that in two hours the water level in the Tobol River increased by 25 centimeters and amounted to 532 centimeters. “It started raining, which gives an additional influx of water, complicates evacuation and creates additional inconvenience. A very difficult situation with rising water is forecast for this night,” he said. Shumkov called on residents of the region to immediately leave the flooded areas.

At the same time, due to flooding in Tomsk, an earthen rampart near the bridge over the Tom River partially collapsed, RIA Tomsk reports . The publication notes that on April 13, due to an ice jam, the river flooded the road under one of the bridges. On April 14, the water level in the river continued to rise. “Due to the overflow of water, part of the slabs strengthening the left bank part of the bridge collapsed,” the publication notes. At the same time, the bridge structure is not in danger, local authorities reported. On April 13, the evacuation of local residents began in the Tomsk region.

Flooding also occurs in Ulan-Ude, said local mayor Igor Shutenkov. Due to the flood, the bridge between the villages of Pervomaisky and Lyakhovo in Bashkortostan partially collapsed . The water level in the Ural River began to drop and water began to leave Orsk, but many settlements in the Orenburg region remain flooded.
