Auchan subsidiary sold its business in Russia

CEETRUS, which is part of the French network of Auchan hypermarkets, closed the deal to sell its assets in Russia, RBC reports. The new owner of shopping complexes belonging to CEETRUS was the company "Trade Gallery".

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (Unified State Register of Legal Entities), the owner of the company on the balance sheet of which is the shopping complexes was replaced on April 12. The preliminary contract of sale was signed in October 2023.

The main owner of the company "Trade Gallery", who received CEETRUS assets, is 23-year-old Tagir Shaimardanov, who worked in the Kazan law firm Shaimardanov, Yalilov and Sabits. According to RBC, Shaimardanov owns a share in the "trading galleries" through JSC Kama Capital, which was registered in June 2023.

• CEETRUS is part of the French group "Auchan", until 2018 it was called Immoauchan. Among the Russian assets of the company are more than 150 thousand square meters of retail space. CEETRUS runs 40 shopping centers and galleries, including Watercolor shopping complexes in Pushkin near Moscow, Togliatti, Volgograd, as well as the Troika shopping center in Moscow. The companies also belong to the customs zones in Auchan hypermarkets.
• After the beginning of the full -scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the French network "Auchan" remained in Russia. In 2023, Le Monde, The Insider and Bellingcat published an investigation that the company supplied the Russian army in Ukraine. In Auchan, it denied this.
