The mayor of Orsk commented on his son’s departure to Saudi Arabia

The mayor of Orsk, Vasily Kozupitsa, commented on the information about the departure of his son Nikolai to Saudi Arabia and his purchase of an apartment in Dubai. A video of his statement was published by Ural56.Ru.

Kozupitsa Sr. said that his son Nikolai graduated from a university with a degree in process engineering with honors, after which “he worked on Sakhalin for 10 years in the most difficult conditions.” He was recently invited to work in Saudi Arabia, where he moved with his family, his father said.

“By the way, there is no honey there either, it’s very hot and the climate is very difficult. He works there now. I am proud that my children achieve everything on their own and, by the way, I did not hide this from anyone. And my wife is always with me and goes through these difficult times with me,” added Vasily Kozupitsa.

Previously, Alexei Navalny’s team published an investigation, which stated that Kozupitsa Jr. moved to Saudi Arabia in the fall of 2023, and a month ago bought a 91-meter apartment in an elite residential complex in Dubai for 33 million rubles. This information was published against the backdrop of Orsk, which his father heads, being flooded after a dam broke.

The dam broke on April 5, resulting in several thousand houses being flooded. Shortly before the accident, Vasily Kozupitsa claimed that he inspected the structure and said that the situation with the water level was under control. Last weekend, the water level in Orsk began to decline, but local residents faced a shortage of drinking water. They have to stand in line for hours to get it.

The governor of the Orenburg region ordered to pay 10 thousand rubles to the affected residents of Orsk. The mayor of Orsk Kozupica said that the victims will receive 100 thousand as “support from the government.” Nevertheless, a petition appeared on the Internet demanding the resignation of the mayor. More than three thousand people signed it.
