Two police officers beat a man in the city district of Shatura and left him at the entrance of a residential building. This was reported by the local telegram channel “Shatura region - the capital of the world.”
The incident was filmed by a local resident who sent it to a telegram channel. He said that the attack occurred on April 14 around 23:30 local time.
According to an eyewitness, only part of the beating was captured on video. Police officers kicked a man next to an official car. After that, they left the scene, leaving the man lying on the asphalt. According to the interlocutor of the telegram channel, the victim “lay for a long time and moaned in pain until he was able to get up and crawl into the entrance.”
The Moscow region police began an internal investigation into the assault. Its implementation is entrusted to the Internal Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Moscow Region, Tatyana Petrova, stated: “During the monitoring of the media and the Internet, employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Moscow Region identified a video recording of law enforcement officers beating a man in the city. Shatura <...> Employees will be dismissed from the internal affairs bodies on negative grounds and will be punished in accordance with the procedure established by law, and their managers will be subject to strict disciplinary liability.”
According to the local port Regions.ru, the deputy head of the Shatura administration, Vladimir Shirokov, has already commented on the incident and stated that the identities of the police officers have been established.
