In a secret document, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs discovered plans for information attacks on the United States

The Washington Post published a Russian document marked “for official use”, which talks about the Russian Foreign Ministry’s plans to weaken European countries and the United States through information campaigns.

The resolution of the meeting of the board of the Russian Foreign Ministry was provided to the publication by European intelligence. The document dated April 11, 2023 is an addition to the Concept of Russian Foreign Policy.

The resolution states: “Comprehensive deterrence of unfriendly countries must be carried out through offensive information campaigns and other measures agreed upon in an interdepartmental format and covering military-political, economic, information-psychological, value and other spheres.”

As The Washington Post notes, the document officially confirms for the first time that Russia is waging a “hybrid war” against European countries, including information warfare. The publication previously wrote that the Russian government seeks to undermine European support for Ukraine and influence the domestic policies of the United States and European countries through propaganda campaigns.

The publication notes that the resolution uses harsher language than the public “Foreign Policy Concept”. The document states that the United States leads a coalition of “unfriendly states,” and the goal of the “anti-Russian alliance” is to deprive Russia of “the role of one of the global decision-making centers.”

In addition, the resolution states that the outcome of the war in Ukraine “will determine the outlines of the future world order.” Journalists from The Washington Post note that this indicates the desire of the Russian government to impose its will on other countries.

The Washington Post writes that the Russian Foreign Ministry responded to the publication of the document and stated that the department would not comment on the presence or absence of internal documents. “As we have repeatedly stated at various levels, we can confirm that the mood is aimed at decisively combating the aggressive steps taken by the collective West as part of the hybrid war unleashed against Russia,” the ministry added .
