Liliya Chanysheva was transferred to Perm

The former head of Alexei Navalny’s headquarters in Ufa, Liliya Chanysheva, sentenced to nine and a half years in the case of an “extremist organization,” was transferred to Perm.

“Tonight my wife was taken to IK-28 Berezniki, Perm Territory. Route: pre-trial detention center-3 Chelyabinsk, pre-trial detention center-5 Yekaterinburg, pre-trial detention center-5 Perm,” Chanysheva’s husband Almaz Gatin told RusNews.

• Liliya Chanysheva has been in custody since November 2021. She was the first detainee in the case of creating an “extremist community,” which was brought against Navalny and his supporters in September 2021.
• In June 2023, Chanysheva was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. In November, the Supreme Court of Bashkortostan approved the verdict, but in March 2024, the cassation court decided to return the case for retrial to the appellate court. In April, the case was re-examined - Chanysheva’s sentence was tightened from seven and a half years to nine and a half years.
