The German manufacturer of the building materials Knauf completely curls work in the Russian market.
On Monday, April 22, the world -famous family concern confirmed that "the KNAUF group against the backdrop of current events decided to part with its business after more than 30 years in Russia."
The company’s statement notes that she decided to transfer the entire business to the local management, including the production of raw materials, production and sale in order to save jobs of more than 4,000 employees. The Russian authorities should still approve this.
KNAUF did not call specific reasons for the folding of business in Russia. Recently, the concern, whose turnover in 2022 amounted to 15.4 billion euros, again came under criticism because of work in the Russian Federation, as well as in Ukrainian Mariupol occupied by Russia.
Since the Russian armed invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, all other German companies have left Russia.
Earlier it was reported that construction companies from Germany are involved in the restoration of Mariupol occupied by Russia. This conclusion was made by journalists from the ARD Monitor publication, having studied the reports of companies, as well as photo and video materials from the occupied Ukrainian city.
