Governor Gladkov: since the beginning of the shelling of the Belgorod region, 120 residents of the region have been killed, more than 650 people have been injured

After the start of the war, 120 residents of the region were killed due to shelling in the Belgorod region. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced this.

11 of the 120 dead were children, the head of the region added. Another 651 people, of whom 51 were children, were injured. In addition, Gladkov recalled that just recently a shell fragment killed a pregnant woman in Novaya Tavolzhanka.

Due to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, border areas - in particular the Belgorod region - regularly come under shelling and drone attacks from Ukraine. In March of this year, the number of strikes in the region increased significantly .

At the end of March, due to constant shelling, the authorities of the Belgorod region decided to evacuate the children. By April 17, according to Gladkov, more than 13 thousand children were taken to the Samara region, Krasnodar region and other regions. In addition, schoolchildren from Belgorod and border areas were transferred to online learning until the end of the school year due to shelling.
