On April 16, the 2nd Western District Military Court received a case against Alexey Goncharenko, who is charged with distributing military “fakes” based on political hatred (clause “e”, part 2, article 207.3 of the Criminal Code), justifying terrorism (part 2 Art. 205.2 of the Criminal Code) and incitement to hatred (clause “a”, Part 2, Art. 282 of the Criminal Code). OVD-Info drew attention to the information.
We are probably talking about Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Goncharenko. The data on the place and date of birth of a person with the same name in the list of “terrorists and extremists” maintained by Rosfinmonitoring completely coincides with the information about the deputy. It was added to the register on May 11, 2023.
What became the reason for initiating a criminal case against Goncharenko is unknown. He himself lives in Ukraine.
- Article 207.3 (Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the armed forces of the Russian Federation) was included in the Criminal Code in March 2022 - in this way the authorities responded to anti-war speeches and statements, as well as the dissemination of information about the war that does not come from official Russian sources. The maximum penalty under this article is 15 years in prison.
