The attacker on the girls because of their refusal to meet him became a defendant in two criminal cases

A second criminal case was opened against 22-year-old Yekaterinburg resident Dmitry Grebenkin, who attacked girls who refused to let him meet him. Grebenkin's lawyer Ekaterina Kuvaldina reported this to It's My City.

According to Kuvaldina, we are talking about a criminal case of beatings (Article 116 of the Criminal Code). The reason was the incident on March 19, when Grebenkin sprayed pepper spray in the face of local resident Ainur Z. He stood up for one of the girls whom Grebenkin persistently wanted to meet.

The first criminal case against Grebenkin was opened in early April, also under the article of beatings. Now these two cases have been combined into one proceeding. Grebenkin is under recognizance not to leave.

Previously, several residents of Yekaterinburg complained that Grebenkin attacked them after they refused to meet him. He grabbed them by the hands or clothes and did not let go, demanding that they tell him their names and contact information. Grebenkin threw one girl into a snowdrift and spat on her, and pushed another girl onto the asphalt, as a result of which she received bruises. The victims contacted the police.

On April 3, a court in Yekaterinburg arrested Grebenkin for eight days under the article of petty hooliganism (20.1 of the Administrative Code). The young man admitted guilt and said that he attacked four girls. At the same time, journalists reported five such cases. Grebenkin explained one of the attacks by saying that the girl “rudely refused” him, which made him feel offended and he “accidentally pushed” her. “I won’t make any more acquaintances at all,” he said at the trial.

Grebenkin's mother was present at the meeting. She told the judge that she signed up her son for several clinics. “We are ready to make amends for moral damage. We decided as a family that we would take him to doctors and monitor his actions,” the woman said.

According to It's My City, Dmitry Grebenkin studies at the Ural Federal University. His defense insists that the young man had no hooligan motives. “Dmitry had no intentions to deliberately cause harm to people, or to oppose himself to others,” his lawyer told the publication.
