NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg arrived on April 29 to Kyiv. Since the beginning of a full -scale war, this is his third visit to Ukraine. The trip was not announced in advance.

The NATO Secretary General in response admitted that the partners of Ukraine are late with weapons. “I will be very honest with the President of Zelensky and with the Verkhovna Rada that NATO allies did not fulfill what we promised over the past months. The United States spent six months on the approval of the package, and the European allies did not provide ammunition that we promised. But now I’m sure that everything will change, ”RBC-Ukraine quoted Stoltenberg as saying.

Also, NATO Secretary General invited Vladimir Zelensky to the alliance summit, which will be held in Washington in July. At the same time, he expressed doubt that at this summit, Kyiv would receive an official invitation to join the Alliance.

“To make this decision, we need the consent of all allies, we need a consensus, not a majority, that is, we need the consent of all 32 members. And I do not expect that we will receive such consent to the summit in July. But I believe that we can demonstrate that we are approaching Ukraine even closer to membership and want as soon as possible the day when Ukraine joins us as a full member, ”Stoltenberg said (quote for Ukrainian Pravda ).

“When the right moment comes, Ukraine will be able to become a member of NATO immediately. I look forward to the day when the Ukrainian flag will flutter at the NATO headquarters, ”he assured.
