Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev published a congratulation on May 1 on his social networks and telegram channel , in which he compared the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky with the leader of Nazi Germany Adolf Hitler.
Medvedev published a Soviet propaganda poster from the Great Patriotic War with the inscription “Every blow of the hammer is a blow to the enemy!” In the original poster, projectiles fly out from under a hammer being used by a Soviet worker to hit an anvil, hitting a caricature of Hitler. In the picture published by Medvedev, Hitler's face is replaced with a photograph of Zelensky.
“Our factories today produce formidable weapons. The kind that our enemies tremble at. At the same time, we produce weapons not instead of, but along with everything that our country needs for a prosperous life. <...> Victory will be ours! Happy May 1st!” - Medvedev wrote.
This is not the first time he has compared the Ukrainian president to Hitler. Thus, in May 2023, he predicted the death of Zelensky, writing that he had a chance to “go to hell by committing cowardly suicide, like Hitler, by swallowing dog poison.”
About a year earlier, Medvedev compared Zelensky’s words that Russians should bear responsibility for the war in Ukraine, being isolated, with the ideas of the Fuhrer. “The last time Adolf Hitler tried to implement such ideas in relation to an entire people. Are there any other questions about the nature of Ukrainian power?” - Medvedev wrote then.
