The Ural anarchist Alexei Rozhkov experienced a lot to his 26 years. At the beginning of the war, he set fire to the military registration and enlistment office in the Sverdlovsk region, got caught, spent half a year under arrest, went out, fled to Kyrgyzstan. Now he is again in the Russian pre -trial detention center and is waiting for the court. He faces more than 20 years of imprisonment.
Alexei held his left glances, fond of music, played a bass and dreamed of releasing a solo album. In the afternoon, he worked in the electronics store as a consultant, and at night he painted political graffiti. The war pushed him to a more radical protest.
At some point, he found out that conscripts were sent to the front. This news was a shock for him. Rozhkov shared his experiences with his mother, but she advised to calm down and not think about the bad. He admitted to his school friend that he wanted to set fire to the military registration and enlistment office, but he considered his words with a drunken nonsense.
On the night of March 11, 2022, Alexei poured gasoline and oil in three bottles of cherry beer and went to the military registration and enlistment office in his hometown of Berezovsky. The wooden building was almost not affected by the fire. Now the arson of the military enlistment offices no longer surprise anyone, but then, at the beginning of the war, it was only a third such case throughout the country. On the nearest fence, the anarchist painted an orange pacific.
Rozhkov did not have a departure plan, so he was quickly detained by traffic police officers who passed by. He did not unlock and said that he had set fire to the military enlistment office - but “not by drinking”, but in protest against the war.
The arsonist was sent in a pre -trial detention center in the assassination attempted murder: the military enlistment office was allegedly on duty at that night, who could die in the fire. But neither Rozhkov himself nor the police detained him in the building saw anyone in the building. In the pre -trial detention center, Aleksey got into the psychiatric department. He was tormented by insomnia, and treatment prescribed by prison doctors did not help. According to him, it was possible to sleep no more than an hour a day.
Six months later, investigator Mikhail Snigirev softened the prosecution before the attempt on arson. Rozhkova was released on a recognizance not to leave, and he was free shortly before mobilization.
She led to a new wave of arson of the military enlistment offices. The General Staff then threatened that such attacks would qualify as terrorist attacks. Alexei did not want to leave Russia, but realized that he could also be charged with terrorism. He wrote a letter to his mother and went to Bishkek. Relatives considered his act a betrayal.
In May 2023, he went to renew the registration in Kyrgyzstan. The next day, local security officials burst into his rented apartment, ordered them to assemble things, took him to the airport and put him on a plane in Russia. Rozhkov later said that he was tortured: they put a bag on his head and beat him with a stamper. So he again ended up in the pre -trial detention center of Yekaterinburg.
Soon, Alexei was tightened by the charge. As he was afraid, now a fabric without the victims qualified as a terrorist attack. In addition, anarchist was charged with a new charge. In Kyrgyzstan, he gave an interview and frankly talked about his act.
“I am not more important than those people who are bombing now in Ukraine and leave without light, without food, they arrange genocide,” he said then. - I'm not more important than all this. More importantly - this is that if the bad is happening, it needs to be finished. ”
Investigator Yevgeny Bragin found in these words Rozhkov an excuse for terrorism and the spread of fakes about the Russian army. According to three articles, an anarchist threatens for more than 20 years of colony.
On April 3, they began to judge in the Central District Military Court of Yekaterinburg. The prosecutor Tatyana Novoseltseva, reading the accusation, called Rozhkova "a supporter of the ideology of violence." The next meeting in the case is scheduled for May 7.
